Content Delivery System (CDS).Salutations, dear PocketFMS user!
Starting version 0.9.62, PocketFMS Desktop comes equipped with a Content Delivery System, or CDS for short. The CDS has been created because only a small percentage of all PocketFMS users is subscribed to our mailing list, and a large number of users have changed their email address without updating their mailing list subscription info. Furthermore, many users do not visit the PocketFMS forum, so contacting all users was virtually impossible until now. We feel that situations may arise when contacting all PocketFMS users might prove necessary, e.g. for Flight Safety reasons.
The CDS will be used by the PocketFMS Foundation exclusively, to bring you operational information regarding the PocketFMS software, the PocketFMS Foundation or its activities. The CDS will *not* be used by third parties, since we'd consider that to be spamming. As you already know, we hate spam probably more than you do, as we've declared in our Privacy Policy. Furthermore, the CDS is a one-way only channel and it will not transmit any data from you to us! You will be alerted of new messages by PocketFMS Desktop, which will check either hourly, or with every download action it performs.
