PocketFMS download procedure changed.
In order to improve the level of convenience for novice PocketFMS users, we have changed the download procedure a bit. As it turns out, a number of potentially interested pilots was unsuccessful in setting up PocketFMS properly on their machine and got lost in the various additional data downloads that were needed, winding up staring at a white Moving Map screen in despair.To assist these pilots, new users can now only download an InstallerPack for their region, after filling out a questionnaire so we get to know our users a bit better. Such an InstallerPack is a significantly larger download, but these new users will have MapData, ElevData and AeroData all in their first download, helping them to immediately get started with PocketFMS rather than having to perform a variety of at that stage unclear additional downloads from within PocketFMS.
Existing PocketFMS users are obviously welcome to download such a large InstallerPack as well, but in most occasions it will be far more convenient to update the program only, which makes for a much smaller download. To download such an update, please log in on the Members Only section of the PocketFMS website using your email address and matching registration number. From there you can press the [Update PocketFMS] button on the left to download only the Installer. If you've misplaced your registration number, you can retrieve it here.
